Angus King

Former Governor, TV talk show host, college teacher, commentator for PBS television’s NOW, and Dad

The "Governor's Travels, How I left Politics, Learned to Back up a Bus, and Found America"

AppleMark Angus King served as Maine's governor for 8 years, from 1995 to 2003. The day after he left office, Angus, his wife, Mary, and their kids; Ben-12 and Molly-9, take to the road in a 40-foot class A motor coach to discover America.

Over the next six months, the family traveled 15,000 miles and visited 34 states. During the trip, Angus and Mary kept a journal that has become a book, "Governor's Travels, How I left Politics, Learned to Back up a Bus, and Found America". Part travelogue and part career transition guide, the book is a glimpse into the life of a guy that went from serving an entire state to answering the question “dad… are we there yet?”.
